His famous leather cap (designed by Helen Anderson) could be described as a Bakerboy style or Newsboy style cap, though I have also seen it called Maciejowka, which is a Breton or Greek fisherman style cap. However, I would say it is entirely unique to him and I should know!
He customised his favourite cap with a Ferrari hat pin - when he passed his driving test he bought a Ferrari! You can read all about this in my story.
He was certainly very stylish. According to GQ magazine "the most stylish musician of all time".
He loved to dress all in black as much as he loved a totally white outfit! If you want to look like him try a black t-shirt with a white denim jacket. But of course top it off with his fabulous leather bakerboy cap!

I met John Lennon in 1957, on my first day at Liverpool College of Art. He ran into me in the corridor, asking "Hey, are you that bird who painted Lonnie Donegan?" I was. We became firm friends.
